- He sounds like a man with something to say and-- unexpectedly, miraculously-- time to say it. Every artist should go out on such a strong note. And perhaps that's what makes his death so tough to accept: Even at 71, it seemed like he was just getting started.
I've read a few accounts of Levon since his passing but this has been my favorite. I really haven't digested the loss of such a great musician and don't plan to. I'm gonna play the ignorance is bliss card and pretend that he's still out there on tour somewhere, just not near me. I really owe the guy a lot, I listened to his playing/singing/writing a lot over the years. The Band essentially supplied the soundtrack to my twenties.
Levon was the best. Good to know the great rhythm section in the sky just got stronger. Perhaps he's rocking out with Danko again?
