The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
-Robert Frost
Not sure this poem is relevant considering we'll be taking the same road as over 3000 others.
POST RUN PHOTO with thenewgreen and cliffelam. Damn it felt good to finish. I sprinted the last quarter mile and then super-duper sprinted the last 8th of a mile. So much fun! A big thank you to Cliff for coaching me to this point. You rule!
I have never run in such a large crowd and view this as a learning experience for the Marine Corp Marathon late this year. I've also never run with a pace runner (8 minute is my goal) and will need that at the Marathon. -XC
