lil can you confirm the following quote:
- And at the end of a verse praising everything Kozelek likes about Canada, he called Ottawa “the worst Canadian city of all.”
Can I confirm that Kozalek said that or can I confirm that Ottawa is the worst city? I like Ottawa - it's a fantastic city full of history, canals, parks, parliaments, statues, museums, and even people I know and like. When people don't like a city, it might be that they don't like themselves in that city. The city is not their place of connection, love, light. How can I love a city where I walk the parks in disharmony. It sounds like Mark Kozalek was having zero fun at the Ottawa Folk Festival... this is completely unrelated to the quality of the city. I've been in a great many Canadian cities. I've lived in several. Perhaps some were more wonderful than others, but wherever I am, I mostly don't want to leave. Except Toronto. I mostly want to leave Toronto. I remember disliking the town of Tillsonberg Ontario. I was travelling through it with someone I didn't really commune with and my child who was then 5 or 6. The person I was with said, "I really can't understand why people have children." I hated Tilsonberg and myself being in Tilsonberg. I've never been back - I should go back with someone I like.
Hey lil, thanks for the response, it was more than I was expecting. I think this was a powerful statement:When people don't like a city, it might be that they don't like themselves in that city. The city is not their place of connection, love, light. How can I love a city where I walk the parks in disharmony.
I can confirm that Mark Kozalek comes off as an exceedingly negative person. I would be totally fine if I never had to hear about him again.
