Two of my prized possessions are catalogues from the 1969 and 1971 Geneva car show. They catalog every model available from every manufacturer in europe for those years, and include some decidedly funky, dirty-hippy advertising.
Absolutely. I love old car ads actually. I'm starting a small collection myself. I think one of the things that make them so great is that the excitement car companies had in their products back then really come across in their ads, especially in the '50s. It seems like every year there was some new bit of technology that was developed and they just couldn't wait to put it in their cars and show it off to the world. In a way, those advertising blurbs were a little like love poems.
