Yahoo tested a number of logos in 2013. That was number six. Interestingly, in polls, only one logo did better than their then-current logo: one which was almost identical, but sans serif. Interesting Google is doing the same two years later. It's like he's trying to speak to me, I know it!
Agreed. Even the New Yorkers gotta pay the bills with some click bait titles, I guess. Ps: good to see you around. ;)
My friend made a funny, but interesting point on the new Google logo. I hate Google's logo, but if I'm being honest my younger cousin loves it. If I had to guess the need for the change, besides the fact that Alphabet seems kind of elementary in name, is Google is advertising for the next generation. I feel like they already have us, and now want younger children to grow up with Google too.
Am I the only font nerd who likes serifs? I think they're great :(
I agree completely, though I feel like a looped "g" might feel out of place in a sans serif font. Then again, there's the font I'm using right now...
It reminds me of the London 2012 Olympics logo, not that it looks like it, just that it completely fails to appeal to me; it doesn't spark any interest, it looks amateurish and I wonder where the art, ingenuity and vision has gone in modern design. I am obviously NOT a designer and have no knowledge of what makes a good design, other than whether something strikes me as interesting, intriguing or appealing or inviting. I do like the new favicon though - I think that's an improvement.
