A student of Eindhoven University of Technology "Zelf Koelman" has designed an alarm clock 'Ferrolic' that manipulates magnetic fluids to display the time.

Very cool, unfortunately they're still in the early phases so the ferromagnetic fluid would only last a few months under full use. Source Also, 7500 euros + tax!? That's crazy! Love the way it moves and flows, but that is one expensive clock.
