Geeky semantic part of my mind asks: how would this be different from clicking on "community" or "badges"? Not discounting your suggestion, this is more a meta, asides type question.
A new section of the newsletter is being added called "Awesome Comments". Looking through globally is incredibly time consuming when looking for the most "Awesome" comments from each newsletter's time period. If there was a post, during each of these periods, where posts could be nominated, or simply just posted and linked, the comments that made it to be featured on the newsletter would actually be those comments, instead of just the best one's whoever's creating it can find at that moment.
Could this #263772 be that post. Could you save or bookmark it. Then if we happen to read an awesome comment we could link it right here in the comments. You could possibly start one for the beginning of each newsletter's time period. Another possibility might be a link along the menu at the top or bottom called Newsletter Suggestions, but that would require programming... Another possibility would be to remind people every newsletter to watch out for AWESOME COMMENTS. If they see one, they could comment on the comment with a simple randomuser That's what I'll do from now on. I'll shoutout to you if I see an awesome comment. Are you the new awesome comment coordinator? Awesome.
Thanks for actively participating in this lil. Great comments I'm enjoying now getting these notifications because I get to find the good threads easier :D.
Great suggestions, lil. I think the first and/or last would work fine. And I just happened to be looking for them this time and realized that, as were adding the awesome comments section, that the community should probably have some say in what goes into the newsletter. This would also make it easier on whoever is making it.
