I'm not talking your favorite song, but that one song that you want everyone to hear because it's not well know, really catchy, or just plain awesome. So what's yours?
I'm not necessarily expecting anyone to like these songs like I do, but here you go: XTC- English Roundabout Bombay Bicycle Club- Ghost Echo & the Bunnymen- Siberia Wolfmother- Vagabond Bad Suns- Cardiac Arrest Switchfoot- Dirty Second Hands Sorry this turned into more of a collection of music than one song. Maybe someone will enjoy this.
Shakey Graves - Late July: (I set it to 1:45 cuz that's when the song starts, but Hubski doesn't like time stamped embeds, so I guess skip to 1:45 yourself?) John Marek - Back of my Head: The Dead Tapes - Where Did She Go: And just for fun: The Duck Song
Unless you're a Kiwi, this one's pretty obscure (check the low youtube count!). I like the kinda subtle reference to John Lennon's "Imagine", about not being the only one ("you may say I'm a dreamer ..."). I turn the knife in the ground that lets me in I watch the ground open up and let me in I want the world to just let me win, ah Fallout shelter All the love in the world that keeps us in Imagine Lennon If he was not the only one No, you're not the only one Why do I ask these questions when I know those lies Why don't I take the thorn out of your side Why can't I see the truth behind your eyes, why Fallout shelter All the love in the world that keeps us in Imagine Lennon If he was not the only one Fallout shelter All the love in the world that keeps us in Imagine Lennon If he was not the only one No, John, you're not the only one No, you're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one Why can't I walk the streets and feel I'm safe Why can't I speak my mind without the grief Why do I have to hide inside my beliefs, why Fallout shelter All the love in the world that keeps us in Imagine Lennon If he was not the only one Fallout shelter All the love in the world that keeps us in Imagine Lennon If he was not the only one No, John, you're not the only one No, you're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one You're not the only one
Eisbrecher - Fehler Machen Leute, if only for the chorus. It's a song about people not being perfect, even when they seem so. "People make mistakes" is in the title. Okean Elzy - Nadya. A Ukrainian-language song about a woman named Nadya. She spends a lot of her time helping her friends the best she can, and one day, she decides to take a day off at the bar. The song is her (fictional) husband's/boyfriend's praise of how good Nadya is, so leave her to rest - she deserved it. Joseph Arthur - Honey and the Moon. You don't hear a lot of romantic songs these days - here's one, and a quality song, at that. It's beautiful.
EDIT 2-ELECTRIC EDITALOO: nah man i'm stupid this is obviously the one i want everybody to hear
