This looks like native advertising to me, but whatever. It's incredible that a company like Gillette can spend 750 million dollars developing their amazing new mach-whatever, then another 800 million dollars per year marketing it to everyone making us all think, "well, real men buy this product!" I know I'm not the only one who sees this aspect of consumer culture as a monumental waste of time, energy and resources. I say screw shaving, grow a beard.
It is a monumental waste of effort, energy and consumer dollars. The markup on razors of ridiculous. It's not just them -- drug companies, clothing, tech firms even games (think Skylanders, anything on a mobile) are all doing the same "How can we extract the most money possible from our customers?" ... Spread out the spend, no one notices.
