I attended Oakland University for one year - www.oakland.edu

spent two years in Montana as a missionary (and spent my fair share of time on U of Montana campus)

I finished my bachelors at Brigham Young University. www.byu.edu

I wouldn't really trade my education experience for anything. BYU is in Utah, right up against some of the most beautiful mountains in the US. The skiing is amazing, the women were beautiful, and the other students there were generally well rounded and grounded people that challenged me to be better.

I wish I would have studied film formally. I took several classes, but lived under the false impression that I would have to move to NYC or LA for work. Hindsight has proven me wrong. There's film work just about everywhere.

If I had a regret it's that I didn't spend longer at OU. It is a great school with (I think) a fairly unique campus environment.

Steve, that's a pretty interesting path you took. What did you think of your time in Missoula? Are you currently working on any films of your own? It seems to me that with current technology being so accessible, all it would take would be the desire and the inspiration.

Missoula has a pretty special place in my heart. I was there for about 11 months. I did a lot of growing up there. I learned a lot about myself, others, and the world. It truly is a great little town. I have considered moving there on a few occasions. Generally great people, great surrounding wilderness, and a good vibe in town. And any town that has an intersection renamed "Malfunction Junction" is pretty ok in my book.

University of Montana seemed like a great school. Just the right mix of a decent football program and hippies. Ok... pretty high hippie to non-hippie ratio, but I learned to play hacky sack like a mofo. (did you catch that pun? I'll be here all night).

First off, thank you for the remembrance of "Malfunction Junction". Haven't thought of that in years. I'd really like to head back there someday soon. I was there from 96-2000 and it was a pretty kick ass time. Not all of it, but most of it. I made some of the best friends of my life while I was there. Should you move back.... I'm crashing on your couch for a weekend ;-)
