I'm a big fan of podcasts, and I love to find new favorites. Perhaps we could share favorite podcasts/episodes on a somewhat regular basis. (I forget to eat lunch, so if it's been a while and you want to post a similar thread, go for it!)
Mine this week: Stop Podcasting Yourself (comedy). Always pleasant to listen to (O Canada!), but this week was one of the gems where their guest, Cam Mcleod, was really part of the team.
The Mystery Show. I love Starlee Kine's voice, and it doesn't hurt that I also like Jonathan Goldstein and David Rees, whose Kotter and Source Code episodes I listened to during a dull spell at work today.
Reasonably Sound is pretty good. It's all about sound! Plus I just love Mike Rugnetta's voice.
I listen to many history podcasts. Dan Carlin's Hard Core History is great. Mike Duncan's History of Rome is fantastic. His Revolutions Podcast isn't as good but not bad. David Crowther's history of England has delighted me. After you get past the Anglo Saxons things really pick up. His dry humor is a weekly delight. If you have listened to the above and are still hungry for some history check out When Diplomacy Fail's. It is sometimes riveting but fails every once in a while. Aside from history podcast's I enjoy On the Media, occasionally Joe Rogan's podcast is great. Lou Reads The Internet is good if you want to listen to the most horrigying shit that has ever been put online and if you liked Serial than Undisclosed is a good follow up. If you have listened to all the other history podcast that I've mentioned and are hungry for more I've got a few more suggestions that are decent. I should have mentioned 12 byzantine rulers, which was damn good, listen to it.
Judge John Hodgman is my favorite comedy-esque podcast right now. I'm the Guest with Lauren Lapkus is a fun change where the host is the guest and is the person being interviewed. I'll second Hardcore History, that's a great podcast.
Judge John Hodgman is one of my favorites as well. I'll have to check out I'm the Guest. I may be confusing Hardcore History with something else. It's been very popular for a very long time, but the one I'm thinking of has a host with an abrasive voice. I do enjoy Stuff You Missed in History Class because in my case, that was everything.
