It isn't. It will strengthen the muscles and some other important systems, but exercise alone will not do you much good when it comes to fat. What you have to do is adjust your diet. The more you eat, the bigger you get. If you consume more energy than you burn (through exercises included), you'll gain fat - the organic storage of energy. If you consume less than you burn (through exercises included)... You get my point. Nothing wrong with promoting motivation, but you have to know what are you promoting it for.
