I think, if we were to be fair, if he were to become the Republican Nominee, he would suddenly become the target of much deeper scrutiny to the point where it'd be uncomfortable. Part of the reason no one is talking about those things is for the exact reason you mentioned, he's a clown, a joke. There's no reason to take him seriously. Chris Christie or Scott Walker on the other hand? People do take them seriously and instead of saying "Oh, those silly buffoons" people are saying "Oh Lord Mercy, look how these men have gone and fucked up as governors."The substance should be the reason Trump is rejected as beyond the pale by anyone with a bit of common decency. But this article makes his style the problem, as if Trump would be a perfectly okay chap if he just ran his segregated housing politely or something. It's smarmy.
Hmm. That's a very compelling argument. I have to admit, I don't know much about psychology/sociology, or even politics to be honest, to tell how much weight it actually holds. I will take your word for it though and I'll take a look into the link in the morning.
Trump was widely acknowledged as an unapologetic boor. His performance at the debates confirmed that he is a completely unapologetic boor. And, as his unapologetic boorishness earns him airtime, he will continue to be an unapologetic boor. It won't be until the media embargoes his ass, a la Paris Hilton, that we will be free of him.
And to think, I paid for one of his books. :( I feel so dirty. If it weren't for the water crisis in California, I'd go scrub myself right now.
You know, I've always wanted to try my hands at making a book safe. Thing is, I don't have any books I'm willing to cut up. Maybe I should hit up one of those $1 used bookstores and see if they have a crappy cookbook or something I can slice into.
