As someone that has witnessed corporate America first hand, I can attest to the fact that our economics are NOT best served by selfish actions. However, not all corporations act this way. In fact, I would argue that corporations are (at times) good representations of human behavior. Some of them are self indulgent and look for quick gains regardless of future consequences (our obesity epidemic comes to mind). -We see this ALL OVER human behavior. The healthiest people make decisions based on what is best for their mind, body and spirit; the healthiest corporations make decisions based on what is best for their consumer, their organization and their shareholders. -Not in the short term, but for the long haul. This exists in both human behavior and corporate behavior. Sure, corporate America is often dysfunctional but this is a direct result of "actual human behavior".
