50 years of abandoning acoustics has brought both greatness and disappointment, with little in between
Quite a disappointing article. When it comes down to it, all the author is basically saying is that changing your artistic style results in potentially harsher judgement and some alienation of the existing fan base. In fact, they pretty much says just that: Hardly enlightening. If I had just written that sentence I would've felt a twinge in my stomach accompanied by a thought of 'oh crap, this article says almost nothing new and/or of worth.'So, in all, it’s ['going electronic'] really just another choice an artist can make. Any stylistic change will elicit these sorts of reactions, although nothing else has the storied history that going electronic does.
