Currently, I'm not sure why anyone would use Tor. It seems far too vulnerable for anyone whose regime would sanction them if they were exposed, while at the same time painting a big red exclamation mark above anyone who just doesn't feel like having the NSA read their stuff. Wasn't there news about correlation based attacks which could essentially expose anyone after a few months of use? Did they fix that? Tor would be extremely awesome if it was reliable, but unless I missed some important developments (entirely possible), I'm just not seeing it at the moment. Is it mainly useful for institutions/businesses who just don't want their competitors intercepting their information but who don't mind being identified?
There you go. Turns out I was pretty damn right regarding HORNET - but I'm glad they're working on it.
That unless HORNET made advances, it was all intentions because the Onion network is worth nothing if the ones who are watching control, or can compromise, a node. Here's the full conversation.
