stop in Provo and buy a gallon of Chocolate Milk from the BYU creamery. You'll thank me later. If you're near Spanish Fork (just south of Provo) at a meal time, eat a cheeseburger special at Stone Drug. Say Hi to Joyce for me. It's too bad you're taking the SLC route and not the Denver route... You're missing out on one of the most beautiful drives in the country... I-70 is not to be missed... perhaps it's not too late?
Cool thanks for the tips! That ice cream sounds amazing :). I've been to another creamery at a university before (Cal Poly) and it was heavenly. Sadly no I-70 for us. This is a family road trip and my mom is deathly afraid of heights. Any slight incline and she has a full panic attack. I'm hoping to take Amtrak through the Rockies at some point when I'm visiting for a holiday though!
the ice cream is good at the creamery... but seriously - the chocolate milk is OUT OF THIS WORLD. They have mint brownies if you're into that kind of thing. The heights aren't too bad on I-70... ok... yes they are. But I hate to break it to you - the heights on I-80 are pretty gnarly as well. Good luck! I'll wave as you pass by just north of us.
