I've noticed a few tech blogs spamming hubski recently, but yeah, it does seem spammy right now.

EDIT: I meant the tinyurl guy, and awhile back there was someone who was rehosting articles on his site.

Hubski is ok with people trying to signalboost their own articles and stuff. But this tinyurl spammer is ridiculous. They have been here today, yesterday, 4 days ago, 6 days ago. Hell, they even managed to fill a wheel.

I assume people who "never see spam" here aren't following the new queue.

I filtered tinyurl. It worked and I guarantee I won't miss anything

Oh my gods, thank you so much. I didn't know I could do that.

tacocat  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

Your followed tags will override filtered urls. Go to settings and filter users less than two days old. That'll work for most of these guys

user-inactivated  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

My hubskimind has been expanded once again. I bow before you, wisdom giver.

tla  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

That works for you in global? I still see stuff for both tinyurl and #spam...

tacocat  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

Actually I was wrong, followed tags override filtered tags and urls. But not filtered users in my experience. Hmm...

Anyway, go into settings and choose to block users less than 2 days old. That should work but so should filtering urls. I should ask for a change in filter behavior.

tla  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

I should ask for a change in filter behavior.

I already did that once already

edit: and just to make it clear that I am filtering url and tag:

forwardslash  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

Looks like filter domains wasn't working properly on global, oops. Should be fixed now. Let me know if stuff you've filtered is still showing up.

tla  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

So

should still show up in my global even though I filter #spam?
forwardslash  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

Ah, finally found the issue with this. For some reason community tags were stored slightly differently than expected and wasn't properly filtered. Should be fixed now.

tla  ·  3391 days ago  ·  link  ·

Hey forwardslash did that fix just affect global or should it also be affecting tag feeds? #games and #gaming are rather overwhelmed to the point it's hard to find nonspam.

forwardslash  ·  3391 days ago  ·  link  ·

Oops, overlooked the individual tag page, should be fixed now.

tla  ·  3391 days ago  ·  link  ·

Thank you, you may now continue being awesome.

tla  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

yay thank you :)

tla  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

uh why is #spam not visible in that panel?

user-inactivated  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

Maybe cause it's a community tag?

tla  ·  3406 days ago  ·  link  ·

It still seems odd to omit it.

tacocat  ·  3407 days ago  ·  link  ·

Click tinyurl under the submission title and you get the option to follow or filter that website. It should remove tinyurl
