Y'know, with all the advances being done, I'm counting the days before we get the first real AI. My bet's less than 900.
I find robots like this especially interesting because of the implications they could have for psychology. The idea that complex behaviour can be produced by a large number of robots with fairly simple programming really reminds me of the concept of extended cognition.
This is super cool to me, but the video seemed like it really wanted me to think it's cool. As a result, I think they spent more time on speculative fluff ("Maybe with the right tools, we could reprogram white blood cells!") instead of letting the technology speak for itself. All this just to say that I would like to hear more about these kilobots, and what purpose they might have!
