I agree with a lot of what the author says, but I have to say that the demonizing of male sexuality seems to me fairly recent a trend, and literally pales in comparison to what females have been subjected to culturally throughout basically all of human history. It's important to point out that that does not justify it.
I think that when there are cultural swings, the pendulum rarely swings with the correct amount of force. Hopefully this trend balances out in short order but I have to say, on a gut level when I think of all the messaging that children receive culturally and the potential impact it has on their self-view, I'd still rather be raising a son an a daughter. The trick is to address the concerns with both sexes without demonizing one or the other. That poster that was linked to is exactly how not to do it. Bottom line is that our country has a lot of growing up to do when it comes to dealing with sexuality period, regardless of the gender we're looking at. We're kind of idiots in that regard.
