Something that might be possible would be "opt-in" advertisement. A link at the top that says, "Want to support hubski? Turn on ads and help us keep the lights on." This has a few advantages: - User gets "feels" from the opt-in, as opposed to being put out by ads that are just presented without an option. The user gets the ultimate say in their experience. - I would imagine that it would be more stable than donations because donations are likely to be irregular. Although users might opt-in/out of ads, there would potentially be a % of users that have ads displayed at any given time. - Quick and easy implementation. This is the direction I would go. Users can donate their visual space without having to actually lose anything (other than the "cleanness" of their user experience.)
