You can. Be careful in that quinoa has pretty strong flavor already. Also, rather than trying to improve the quinoa you have, try different quinoa - I hate the white shit, but the red shit and the black shit are both pretty goddamn good.

My husband once tried a microwave bag of quinoa and has vowed to never touch quinoa again. My first time trying to cook it, I merely managed to make what was essentially quinoa congee, and never bothered again. My mother figured how to cook it up with herbs and spices and I had some the last time I was home, it was quite good.

I certainly wasn't aware the different colors tasted different.

Oh you're totally missing out then. Blonde quinoa tastes like sand to me. The red stuff is nutty and the black stuff almost has a kale vibe.

It totally cooks in a rice cooker, BTW.

Nice! I am one of those insane people who is addicted to anything that resembles a kale chip. I make pizzas with just kale and cheese on them.

You're really gonna like black quinoa, then. I, on the other hand, like kale about 20% of the time and I still like black quinoa.
