Worst nightmare for anyone with social anxiety. Seated closer to others and probably having a lot more eye contact and awkwardness with other passengers. But I'm interested in how safe it would be, both in evacuation matters and crashes. If I recall there's a difference in safety depending on which direction you're facing in a plane, among plenty of other factors.
yeah this looks like a clusterfuck for evacuations. the way the seats are positioned looks like a major tripping hazard. also people behave so badly as it is on planes. i am having horrible visions of the person across from me thinking it's totally fine to put their feet up on my arm rests.
My fiancée is a former flight attendant, and while that certainly doesn't give her a ton of insight into the FAA process, she agrees with the points arguewithatree made. It's just too much of a deathtrap to get approved.
That looks atrocious. My first thought was that famous diagram of the layout of a slave ship. Maybe I should patent a system where there is an identical layout of passengers strapped to the ceiling, allowing one to fill the space above a passenger's legs with the upside down torso of another passenger. On the other hand, it seems you get more arm room, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they were a little more spaced apart than in the diagram.
You say that now, but what will you do when the guy across from you starts stroking your knee, maintaining a predatory eye contact the entire time?On the other hand, it seems you get more arm room, so maybe it wouldn't be so bad if they were a little more spaced apart than in the diagram.
At this point it would be easier to have everyone just show up at the airport wearing a hospital gown to make it easier to search you, then you get into a box that anesthetizes you and they can then stack you to the ceiling. Much more efficient use of space. Think of all that space above you that you're using for breathing etc. Sure, many people may have adverse reactions to the anesthetic, but those people can just purchase the business/first seats. Can't afford it? Too bad. Fucking treating people in economy like cattle.
