That was by far the most lucid explanation of spin I've ever read. I've read my fair share of all the usual suspects writing about quantum theory over the years and spin always broke my mind. This only damaged it slightly. Thanks! Have some Higgs Boson Blues!

I've read a few other articles by Dr. Dave Goldberg at io9, and they're all pretty reader friendly, does a nice job of explaining complicated things. That and minutephysics on youtube are my current favorites. Now, if I can only find a similar explanation of the standard model of particle physics. Was researching last week, got as far as this link https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-laymans-explanation-of-the-standard-model-of-particle-physics and gave up. Not for good, though.
