Give me some information on why you like the anime.
What are some things I should look for or pay attention to when I watch?
Here are a few that are out of the way or not quite what it says on the tin: Kaiba is a very dark, surreal cartoon piece with mind editing and swapping as a central plot device. Space Dandy is a wildly varying sketch show disguised as a goofy space western. Wonderful Days is a Korean movie with a terrible plot, but it's very very pretty. Genius Party and Genius Party Beyond are collections of shorts, mostly Sci-Fi, from Studio 4C.
It's pretty hard to recommend something without knowing what do you mean by classics, but I'll give it a try. Movie:
- Redline - nothing thought provoking, but the animation is by far the best in anything I have watched and it's action packed. Done by Madhouse. Series:
- Ergo Proxy - loved the world, the journey. My favourite anime, from which I started watching regularly.
- Legend of the Galactic Heroes - very long, still watching. Very good if you are looking for something more "intelectually stimulating". Solid 10/10.
I've only ever seen a single anime - Knights of Sidonia. If anyone with more discerning tastes has seen it, they'd be able to tell you how it stacks up. I thought it was pretty interesting, though some of the personalities were weird. Maybe it's an anime thing. It's on Netflix and the 2nd season came out last week, I believe.
