Also, does anybody have any idea what the string instruments being played at 15:00 are? They're obviously electronic but I've never seen anything like them.

So I did some digging - parts of this piece were played at a recital at my school and I've also seen another composer use one - and they're using a GameTrak controller, which is an old usb game controller built for some golf simulator.

Woah, cool. They must've modified the game controllers to act as midi controllers. I'm sure they aren't playing an original composition, so that makes sense regarding the school recital.
