I feel really bad for the team that ended up 'making this'. You know they didn't start out with this in mind, but they put up their perfect comprehensible and minimalist emoji ad in front of the board for approval. The board, not knowing what any of the emojis meant in the first place, were not able to understand that it would "stop making sense" if you just add more emojis. And so you get this, and someone died a little inside.
Even if these Millennials (dubious) are just snarking at this auto manufacturer ... the manufacturer still managed to get the brand name all over the place. Negative marketing is an effective strategy. The most important part is that people recognize the name. The company can fix their reputation later. Or ... a reverse reddit.
