I wish we could vote to keep the chairs empty. I'm writing in Henry Rollins for president.

Yeah, he sure is isn't he? His response to this has been "you're not a true republican until you've cursed out a New York Times reporter". For someone that wears the bible and morality on his sleeve he doesn't seem to have a problem using curse words in front of a young lady. Anyone can spew verse and talk about integrity and morality when the waters are calm but you see someones true character when the sea rises.
This guy's such a phony. Can you imagine if Barack Obama said, "that's bullshit" to a Fox news reporter... or anyone?

I actually think its refreshing that the guy had a brief moment of being human, which I was beginning to doubt. Its got to be frustrating to watch everything you say all the time for fear that it will be taken out of context. That's exactly what this reporter was trying to do, and RS had a snap. I don't blame him at all; I would be fed up too.

When you cloak yourself in a holier than thou morality, your detractors are allowed to call you a hypocrite when you curse in public.
It's only refreshing because they ALL act so disingenuous 99% of the time.

Personally, I respect how Santorum told him off. I dislike the guy with every ounce of my body, but he's right--he was misquoted, and the media does this to create flashy headlines, often with dubious or political aims counter to the purpose of news media. The media should be the vehicle traversing the bridge between politics and the people, not the toll booth.

I think to people such as his followers there is a certain appeal in seeming like a man of action, unafraid of confrontation. I can certainly see the appeal in that, though I am left of center. He wasn't terribly inarticulate in his anger, either; had it been me and I decided to lose my cool, I would have been stammering and drawing blanks.
Just playing devil's advocate, rather than hopping on the bashwagon.

cynthia, you are WAY more on top of things than I am... has there been an outcry regarding this? Are people upset that he used such language? Do they feel it provided insight in to his true character?

Less outcry than I thought there would be. However he made another gaff today. Think he may have called Obama the N word. Santorum seems to have a lot of racist slipups. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=e... Santorum would make a scary president.

Oh come on... there are plenty of reasons to not like this guy, we don't need to make new ones up. He didn't say the "N" word, it wouldn't even fit in to the context of what he was saying. For all I know he could be a racist but this vid is NOT proof of such.
Santorum scary? There I agree with you ;-)
I don't know. That video doesn't convince me. He did say that he is sick of giving money to black people though, so I wouldn't put it past him. Holy shit, this is twice in two days that I've given Santorum the benefit of the doubt. What is this world coming too?!?!
