I have them all but Smash 4. Haven't gotten around to buying it yet.
Since we don't have a Wii U I think it's the only one I have never played. My brother is still big time into it, but I don't have the time to put into it like I used too. Also, I have no choice, I can't use Wii controls to play any game, thank you for gamecube controller support.
The Wii U actually has a plug in to let you use game cube controllers on it you can buy haha. They released it the same time they released Smash 4.
Smash 4 is by far has the most content out of all the smash games with now 53 characters. With all the rules, game modes, custom maps, final destination stages, a complete portable version and 8 player smash honestly makes it the best one in my book. Sure the other games have their place but Nintendo has really outdone themselves with this one.
I semiregularly play Project M (and slightly less regularly Melee). I love the direction the PMBR have taken the game, and I can't wait to see where else they go. Anyone who plays should be playing on Anther's Ladder. It's a fantastic method for netplay through Dolphin.
One of my friends introduced me to competitive Smash through PM last year, so I actually picked it up without any insight from competitive Melee. It's been a fun and refreshing experience since I'd been looking at Smash as a rather "casual" experience. I am unable to actually play until September, but I'll probably join the Netplay bandwagon if my Internet connection allows it. Looking forward to further PM updates too!
Same! Competitive Melee is my jam. I'm so absolutely hyped for Evo.
Absolutely. But I'm gonna be heartbroken if PPMD doesn't win it.
I've played melee, brawl, and 4 but only ever owned brawl. No doubt 4 I'd my favorite but since I'm primarily a PC guy I got into this game called Brawlhalla, which is not only free in Steam but also my favorite game in the genre. There are a few different mechanics and it's overall more focused on movement than smash, but it's still really easy to get into.
Melee is still the best, but WiiU is actually pretty solid. :D
Easily one of my top 3 favorite game franchises. I main Link and Mewtwo in Smash for 3DS. I don't have a Wii U, but I've more than adapted to playing on a handheld, so I don't feel like I'm missing too much. Granted, I still love the GCube controller.
Alright! So that makes three of us that I know of: you, me, and goo. And, if you have a WiiU, definitely get Smash 4. I'm not even the biggest fan, but it's still an amazing game, if only just to whip out when you have friends over and want to have some fun.
Is it more like Melee or Brawl? I thought Brawl was a big step down from Melee.
Yeah, I agree. Brawl was a huge step down. It's definitely more like Brawl, in that the physics are still pretty floaty and there aren't all that many real combos that you can do. But, even so, it's definitely a step away from Brawl. I don't love the game, and I definitely like other smash games better, but it's still a stupid amount of fun to play with friends. Plus, there are like, twenty new characters!
