Quick backstory:
When the CDEO was formed in 2004, the tanks of the French Army proved sufficient for both the Belgians and the French. However, by 2008, it was determined by the CDEO Defense Ministry that with the admittance of Portugal, a new tank was required. The government in Brussels sent out a call to many different firms, and Krauss-Maffei answered the call. Previously having designed the Leopard 2, Krauss-Maffei desigers, alongside those at AMX and several Belgian Firms designed the Panter (Also known as the Panthere and Pantera). By 2016, most CDEO units had received their new MBTs and the tanks remain untested. However, many leading experts believe the Panter is one of the finest tanks in the world, alongside the American Abrams, British Challenger, and Germanic Leopard.
