I'd have a similar problem. The people I'd love to see over here are pretty hardcore into their subject matters. I don't know if Hubski would have the volume of content that they'd want to see on a consistent basis.

I'm actually posting a lot about cars and will post quite a bit about boxing to maybe plant some of those seeds. I don't know how well I'll be able to pull it off.

Oh, yeah, we need boxing stuff over here. It's just sad that such time has gone into building such comprehensive and complete subreddits, and now the whole site's going to hell in a handbasket, except the great subs.

/r/boxing is literally one of the best subreddit communities I've ever seen. Both the mods and the users are passionate about the subject and it really shows. They're literally 75% of the reason I haven't deleted my Reddit account yet.

I'm down to two subs, /r/Project2015 and /r/TheVeneration. Problem with them coming over is that either it is too unique or a community like the first, or too cult like for the second. Too bad to see stuff go.

Yeah, I think for now Hubski will be more of a general interest/dabbling site for most users. What's absolutely wonderful though is that so many people here seem to be very intelligent and insightful, which leads to great discussions. That in my opinion more than makes up for the lack of specialization.
