New user, first time posting here.
Long story short, I have a kind of messed up sleeping schedule, due to dealing with both college and anxiety, along with a few other things, which causes me to stay up until really late at night. I also have some troubles expressing myself, so sometimes I end up feeling the need to be expressed and understood, and since all my friends are sleeping by that time I end up thinking creating a small place where I can talk about what I feel like I want to talk, or post somethings I like, in order to be less anxious and have some rest.
However, despite having made quite a bit of searching on the matter, I haven't yet came across a solution that I can perfectly fit with. It would mean a lot if any of you could help me out to get started. Here are some of the things I am looking for: - Something minimalist, as in, none of that social features like on Blogger or Tumblr, and really simplistic and text-focused layout. I also found out some micro-blogging platforms, but the text limit per post is really limited for what I want. - Few to none programming needed, since unfortunately I don't understand much about any programming language. - Something that doesn't involves money, either paying (for hosting, etc.) or getting paid (advertisement).
Maybe it seems I'm beeing to picky, but I would be really thankful if you could help me with any information.
Mashable compiled a list of blogging platforms that may fit your bill. Or you could even revert back to old school and keep an actual diary. All the control you want in a portable physical book!
Cool! Sounds like I will have plenty of things to check tomorrow haha. Thanks! About the diary, I actually have never started one, unfortunately. However, one of my best friends will be studying abroad next year and gave me a diary so I can write thing for her to read when she comes back. I will try writing both on diary and the internet, and see what suits best to me. Once again, thank you so much!
Medium may be up your alley. It's focus is much more minimalistic than the other platforms you mentioned, and it caters pretty much exclusively to text. When it first came out, the design was so different it put me off a bit, but now I'm considering using it for a personal blog, without any financial aims. But, like btcprox mentioned, unless you want a blog to help get your work out there or to solve other people's problems, a physical journal is pretty much exactly what you seem to be after.
