This guy thinks he's writing a script for a TV show, probably because this story could be made for TV. It reads well though.
insomniasexx, here's a home run for ya. [which hey reminds me, how's your bro doing in the minors?]
Finally made my way back to this post because I have about 100 notifications. This was an exceptional read! It sucks that one person can have two drastically different sides to them. He seems to have been a good person to everyone on the trail and genuinely made some people's lives better. It's hard to reconcile that with all the fraud and possible murder. I still wonder why he took the money. If I had to guess, I would say he was looking for something more and thought money could provide that for him. When it didn't, he kept looking on the trail. Or he just wanted to not have any responsibilities anymore and having a large cash reserve helps with that.
Here's an update on my brother from a couple weeks ago. A year after being drafted, he's playing for the Hagerstown Suns, the A team for the Nationals. He just made the All Star team and has been doing really well. He seems to be settling into the grove, and is doing way better that the short season last year where he lived in a house with 15 boys (50% of them non-English speaking Dominicans), sleeping on an air mattress, and not being around his college girlfriend anymore (they're still going strong, amazingly enough.) He's been relieving lately and relieving great. Closed out two scoreless innings today and four scoreless the week before. Picked up a couple wins. 3/1 win/loss. 1.6 era. 45 innings pitched. 24 strike outs. 13 walks. Not to shabby! In the last couple weeks he's transitioned to a starter, which is awesome. He started the past couple games, giving 6 solid innings in each. Before a crowd of 7,426, it was another outstanding night of pitching for Hagerstown (29-26) as starter MY BABY BROTHER!!! worked six scoreless frames, allowing just three hits and two walks, to slice his ERA to 1.85.
