We recorded it on an iPhone, first-take and no plan! It gets pretty good after we settle in!
thenewgreen ghostoffuffle and the rest of the hubski music club, take a spin on it if you like, though that may be hard cause there is literally no structure..
I dig it pabbles! When the kit comes in around the 2minute mark, it's a cool moment. Sounds like fun, I'm glad you are doing this. What did you use on your iPhone to record it? It doesn't sound bad at all. Ya'll need a bass player then you'll be in business.
Thank you! The drums just wouldn't come in at first lol. When I get a decent keyboard I'll be able to simulate the bass and move away from the kinda out-of-place electric piano stuff now. I used the built-in Voice Memos app, drums and two amps all facing the iPhone on the floor in a triangle about 4 ft away each. It was loud as fuck in that basement haha, the iPhone did a surprisingly good job.
This is super sweet man! I really like the building introduction and then at about 4:15 when the drums change to a more regular pattern the electric guitar sustains with keys(?) behind is a really nice moment. I skipped a little though the middle bit but the rest of it was awesome. For a impromptu jam session you have some seriously cool stuff hiding in there. Take a listen to the track: As The Stars Fall - The Cinematic Orchestra (or anything by The Cinematic Orchestra to be honest).
Hey man, thanks for listening! I agree that we some "cool stuff hiding in there." I'm hoping that with some practice and some better equipment coming in time we can dig some of that stuff out. My band was at a total standstill, in creativity and motivation, until going to a sweet festival in NYC where we got to see Tame Impala together. It did the trick and we're back in the basement! Thanks again
