For anyone purposefully avoiding it because of the trailers like I almost did, fear not! The worst bits of dialogue are in the trailer, and for the most, the rest of the film isn't as cheesy. In fact it's pretty self-aware at times, and that made for some good laughs.
There were also a lot of call backs to the original films, which was a really nice touch.
Has anyone else seen it? What are your thoughts?
I don't know how I feel about the product placement. I get they were satirical about corporate whoring but then they still whore the film out. Also during the SHTF scene with the tourists see if you can identify an older gentleman protecting his two drinks. Fun movie though.
I had a Fight Club spliced genitals moment when I saw that. Did I see Buffett or just think that I did?
I really enjoyed it! It's not some genre-defining masterpiece, but it's thoroughly entertaining and is pretty amazing visually. Great summer movie.
Jurassic Park 3 came out in..2001 (?) and thats 14! years ago. Considering the JP movies kinda got worse, and taking all that in mind, I wasn't expecting a masterpiece. I expected HD dinosaurs with 14 years of advanced technology. And thats excactly what I got, I was BLOWN AWAY by how beautiful looking it was, the landscape, dinosaurs (especially flying shots) it was mesmerizing. Loved the experience!
not yet, but a it got a lot of mixed reactions which, in my opinion, makes at least worth watching. anything else I might want to know going in?
If you go in to it thinking it's going to win Best Picture, you'll be thoroughly disappointed. I found it entertaining and a solid blockbuster flick. If you enjoyed the original two films you'll enjoy this one.
Well, I would never spoil a movie -- but no. That would be cool, though.
