- It’s the sound that usually occurs when you shut your eyes tightly or flex your jaw muscles in a certain way. It sounds like a low rumbling or a 747 passing by. But what is it exactly? And is it harmful?

The way I get it is by clenching the muscles on the inside of my hears as if I'm trying to pinch my ears together or pull them in to my head. Does that make any sense?

I tried that and I can hear a slight version, much quieter. When I do it it's very loud, when I was a kid I always thought it sounded like static electricity in my brain. When I was a very small kid I thought it was some sort of unique ability.

I've always wondered about this. I can produce this sound without doing much but constricting the muscle. Sounds like thunder in my head.
