insomniasexx won the #grubski challenged but has outsourced to me as she is a shit cook and doesn't know shit about cooking.
The grubski challenge for the first couple weeks of June will be: SUMMER FOODS/BBQ (on the grill).
Now that the weather is getting warmer, we have different fruits and veggies and everyone should be using their grills more, I figured it would be a good chance to show off those refreshing, delicious foods that we love to enjoy in the summer.
It's a pretty loose challenge so have some fun with it, don't be scared of being fancy, and get your posts in before June 15th.

Alright, yakitori time. Your host. Our special today Food plus beer.
Recipe 1. Marinate chicken chunks in soy sauce, grated ginger, and a few teaspoons of sugar overnight. 2. PIck your veggies, cut into bite sized chunks and toss in a mixture of miso paste, olive oil and a few tablespoons of warm water to thin the miso. We used sweet onion, red and yellow bell peppers, summer squash and asparagus. 3. Put meat and veggies on separate skewers (Soaking them in water if wood or bamboo first) and grill, turning every few minutes and switching skewer locations if grill heats unevenly. Chicken should be moist with a good char, and veggies should be soft. 4. Serve with good beer.
I spent one day in Michigan, visiting with my parents and grandparents. I was able to swing by Ann Arbor for a minute and see mk, which was nice. His daughter has one kick-ass tree house. Seriously, it's awesome. Also, mk's man-cave above his garage is pretty amazing too. Anyways, we grilled out at my grandparents. I bought some free range, hormone free, bone-in split breast chicken. a few gouda and horseradish bratwurst and a few applewood smoked cheddar bratwurst as well. My mom made a couscous and mango salad and my Oma made a summer salad with greens, dried cherries, walnuts and pear. For the BBQ sauce I used some sauce that we already had (lame, I know), but I added salt, pepper and fresh lemon and lime juice to give it a bite. It was good. It was all very summer. Enjoyed it with Michigan's own Bells Two Hearted Ale. -Delicious:
