Neat speech! And why are your teachers fascinated with a "growth mindset"?
A couple key people read Carol Dweck's Mindset and it basically became required reading for the faculty. I appreciate the idea, but eventually the phrase and concept were so overused so as to become essentially meaningless. Like, if one of us would comment that a field trip was childish and silly, which they usually were, a teacher might respond with "Keep a growth mindset!" which is just not even close to the term's original usage.

Ah okay. I did take a glimpse at the official website for Mindset, and from your example it does sound like the teachers abused the terminology. Wonder if they actually did comprehend the essence of the book at all :p
