Things matter.

Sorry. Was just my first reaction. Here's a meandering second reaction:
Basically, I think it's misguided that we so separate the quality of goals in professional and private life. What types of things do we want to accomplish in our private life? How do we want to be known in our private life? Should our professional life have a significantly different quality to it? IMHO, Google is becoming less of Google, and is becoming more of a strategic player in an ugly game. Google may win, or they may lose, but whether or not they make the world a better place isn't really part of it anymore. They are now following the course of those that chase things that matter little.
