I own the triangle version, it's fun. It's been mostly replaced with Settlers of Catan and Scrabble in the board game rotation though.
mk introduced me to Settlers and I've been a fan ever since. Unfortunately, our Settlers partners moved last year and now we don't have anyone to play with. We need to train our neighbors.
there's a bunch of ways to play Catan online if you want to get your old partner in. not exactly the same, but set up a skype call and get the chips and dip out and it can be a good time. I used to do that with "Pretend You're Xyzzy", a Cards Against Humanity clone online.
What's the best way to play online. I am writing my friend right now about his idea and want to share a link. TIA.
This one's the official Catan online, put out by the publisher. I don't know if that means it's the best, but it is official. THere's also http://playsettlersonline.com/ but idunno if it's superior, inferior, etc.
That might actually be cool. I've never considered that. We could all be on G+ and hangout/play. Good idea.
I was part of a collaborative channel on youtube for a long time. Two of us were from Colorado, one was from Tennessee, I was from Canada, and the last person was from Cornwall, in the UK. After we met in TN one year after the rest of them went to Vidcon ( I couldn't go), we met up a few times after to play the cards against humanity clone online. It was fun (if a little hard to schedule spanning like, 9 time zones).
That's cool, I need to get back into board games. I used to play Blokus duo online, my wins/losses ratio was somewhere around 1, so... meh. My spatial intelligence is my #1 asset. It's one of the reasons I went into physics.
