In other news, animations have now entered journalism. I'm not so sure that this super-integration between journalism and design is so great. First the parallax, ultra huge image, shit took over my story. Now they are fucking moving too
I haven't finished reading this yet... I am intrigued. It turns out - I've met Curtis Green on three occasions. I actually lived near him a few years ago and had the "privilege" of having bags lost on two different occasions, and he was the dude who brought them to my house. weird.
I kind of dig the animated inserts. I don't even remember that last time I sat down and read something that long on my computer without getting distracted. I think part of that was the pictures. It helped break it up. I also noticed that they mostly weren't related to the text that directly came before or after. Instead they lay sometimes even chapters before or after what they're portraying appears in the text. In this way it either helped narrative remain stable and rooted in my mind or kept me intrigued... Perhaps I need to read more. Plus they were well done, so they were generally a pleasure to look at.
