The Dealth Penalty needs to be abolished now. 152 death row exonerations since 1973. The U.S. convicts and kills innocent people. The U.S. is not in good company.Chillingly, as the Post continues, “the cases include those of 32 defendants sentenced to death.” Of these defendants, 14 have already been executed or died in prison.
The WP article must be a joke though. I'm assuming the editors are linked to the government of Venezuela. Government sanctioned killings of state citizens is a sport that the majority of Latin American countries have excelled at for a long time. Argentina outlawed the death penalty in 1916! Guess no one told the Perons or the military junta. General Pinochet must not have gotten the message in Chile either. I'm all for the US abandoning this cro-magnon tactic, but let's compare apples to apples when making a moral judgement, eh?
