mk, this sounds like the kind of app that you would use. Does the app need to be continuously running? Would it be a giant energy suck on your battery?
It is pretty hard on the battery if you let it run on an unplugged phone. However, I believe the app is set to autolaunch whenever plugged into power and after some delay of inactivity. It works best and receives the least amount of light noise when it runs at night, where it won't interfere with your phone usage. I don't know how the day to day battery life is affected if it only runs at night.

That makes sense, I would have been shocked if they hadn't considered that.

I am pretty sure it is crazy battery draining. Though, I must say it's pretty dang cool to be able to do that.
