I've heard rumors of Pro Tools sessions for Blurred Lines with "Got to Give It Up" in a scratch track. Rumors, mind you, but sound mixer scuttlebutt from guys that, you know, work in those studios. I have not heard any of this surface in the public record, so...
What the fuck...? I listened to the Marvin Gaye song, and while I'll admit it had a similar vibe to it, it's clearly a different song. How the hell do you copyright a mood? That's ridiculous. Maybe they're in the same key, but honestly there aren't that many keys to choose from, and I'd say there is a clear difference between being inspired by, and being plagiarism. How the fuck will anyone make new music when they aren't allowed to be inspired by previous works? I hate everything about Blurred Lines, and I still think this is bullshit.
