So is this what happens at hubski during a reddit armageddon?
It goes more like this.. TNG, who is always awake before us, sends us an email. Usually this is at like 3:30am PST. Usually it looks like "uh...guys hubski is down. Piwik is registering tons of hits from reddit." If you didn't know, reddit hits always come at the worst times. Then a group SMS saying something similar with more urgency. This cycle repeats until mk wakes up. Then mk replies "okay I'm on it." Then we wait. Well, we wait. TNG responds in two seconds for a status update. Then mk does a bunch of magical stuff and it works for a bit. And then it either immediately crashes again or waits until he's driving to work to crash again. Then we wait for forwardslash to wake up. Then we wait for forwardslash's brain to start functioning. Then a bunch more magically mk and fowardslash magic stuff. Then it's all happy dandelion fields. Then, like 3 hours later, I wake up go OH NO HUBSKI IS DOWN! Then I visit hubski and it's up. Then I read the other 50 emails and texts. Then I go back to sleep...I mean hubskiing. :-P
That's actually pretty damn accurate, but usually it's not that I'm "already up" it's that I've not yet going to sleep. My guess is that mk is a much earlier riser than I. But yeah, that's how it goes down :)
That's a question for mk and forwardslash. But if we ever have a photo of a oiled up celebrity, it might be the day to delete your account. Unless it's a well oiled Carl Sagan, but at this point that would require a whole lot more than oil.
