I understand the point of twitter a bit, it is place to write short funny observations and to read other peoples short funny observations. Like, one of my favorite people and a seriously amazing woman who is a household name in Sweden wrote this once. Paraphrasing, and translating so it sounds way worse when I say it BUT
"Studying for my hunting license is so boring that if I was allowed a gun I would shoot myself" Like that sounds very dark, and twitter is a place where you can write things like that without people thinking you are serious.
Yeah, people are awful. You have to be funny though if you're gonna be dark. And usually the only safe topic is yourself. Honestly I'm mostly on twitter because of that one woman's tweeting, and 'cause of other people like her. I feel like Sweden can be more forgiving when it comes to social media though, there is a young and funny and smart comedienne that accidentally recommended a neo-facist book because she hadn't gotten to the really messed up parts yet and the SVT (our BBC) defended her and keeps working with her Like, the woman I'm constantly paraphrasing is a social media genius. She is an ex-copywriter turned to working with food. She is quite dark but she also writes about really personal things and has basically said in an interview that the thing she is the most proud of is being able to lead a normal life. I try to stay away from most of twitter honestly. I try to just follow famous adults with self control that don't tweet a lot. Or adults with admitted self-control issues that tweet a lot. And I usually think before I tweet and such.
