The color scheme leaves a little to be desired. Not sure if the Metro is an improvement, and I don't like horizontal scrolling too much. But all in all, it looks like they are doing some good things.
Also, I love using a mouse. Copying and pasting with a touchpad is pretty frustrating, IMHO. Also, I use Photoshop a lot. A mouse is the only real option.
- When the time comes for the Pad/Laptop Singularity I'm sure we'll have figured out how to solve the keyboard issue.
I have a feeling that the sensation of texture on a touch screen will help some there. http://hubski.com/pub?id=11398 However, there is something nice about the topography of a keyboard, and I'm not sure if it can be matched. I'll have to try a stylus more. I have very limited experience with it. It does seem to be the standard in illustration these days. The iPad still just isn't as responsive as I'd like it to be.
