It doesn't look to bad. I love the startup menu that lets you config what runs on startup.

The color scheme leaves a little to be desired. Not sure if the Metro is an improvement, and I don't like horizontal scrolling too much.

But all in all, it looks like they are doing some good things.

It's funny how computer startup screens are now trying to be like mobile screens. Maybe it is to get everyone ready for when they stop making laptops and desktop computers, and go to smartphones and Pads.

Oh geez, I would hate that. I like using on my laptop far more than the iPad. I see the iPad as a digital magazine of sorts. It's nice for some consumption, but it's awful for actually writing or editing, or really creating in general.

Also, I love using a mouse. Copying and pasting with a touchpad is pretty frustrating, IMHO. Also, I use Photoshop a lot. A mouse is the only real option.

When the time comes for the Pad/Laptop Singularity I'm sure we'll have figured out how to solve the keyboard issue. And wouldn't a stylus work for photoshop as well? Styluses rule.

Is it styluses or styli?

Wikipedia says they're both right, but styluses gets more hits on google.

I have a feeling that the sensation of texture on a touch screen will help some there.

However, there is something nice about the topography of a keyboard, and I'm not sure if it can be matched.

I'll have to try a stylus more. I have very limited experience with it. It does seem to be the standard in illustration these days. The iPad still just isn't as responsive as I'd like it to be.
