RIP Joe. Truly a unique musician, with one of the greatest voices out there.
He was also the inspiration for one of the best skits to ever air on Saturday Night Live.
The box holds 100 records, we just changed out about 70 after we hit the record store and picked up about 30 new ones. The change probably took about two hours to change out the records but many of the records needed to be cleaned which takes a fair amount of time. We've only had the juke box in our home for less than a year, most the 45's we inherited didn't have tags, Pretty much only the records that were already in that box that had selection tags. So we burned a bit of time recording what we were going to put in and then my wife printed them up (she works in printing so they look nice). Changing a single record would probably only take about five minutes and Cocker will probably be the first to go when one of us picks up a new record.
I saw Joe Cocker years ago in concert. I've always enjoyed his music and for my money, nobody covers a Beatles song better. His version of A Little Help From My Friends and She Cane in Through the Bathroom Window are as enjoyable or even more so than the originals. He was great in concert. The Neville Brothers opened up for him.
That song is great, but the other stuff I've heard from him wasn't anywhere as impressive.
Joe Cocker - Mad Dogs and Englishmen is a great album
