Friend of mine fucked up their life, did a lot of drugs, and, from the brief accounts I heard, hurt a lot of people. It all stemmed from a rejection of a society she hated. Last summer, I met with her and found out she was travelling across the country to see if she could give inspiration to others to constructively build beauty in the world and not fall into the same spiral of self-destruction that she had.

It's always nice to see someone turning tragedy in to triumph. Good for her. and good luck in your quest to do something similarly good.
