That sounds like a great trip. I have friends that have been to Scotland and they have loved it. My wife and I are both big fans of Scotch. -I like the idea of going there and doing a "tasting" tour.
As beautiful as the Highlands look, were I to go it would be overwhelmingly for the Scotch--in similar fashion to why wine drinking sorts go to Napa. I'm hoping it will be summer 2013, but my bro has a baby on the way this coming May, so... you know how that is.

Yeah, you'll be lucky to get him to go considering. As one of those "wine drinking types", Napa is on a list of places I'd like to go with my wife. So many places I want to go!

My sister's girlfriend owns a wine shop. She told me her European distributors have castles on their vineyards where she can stay anytime she is in France, free of charge. She was kind enough to extend the invitation to us when she goes on her next buying trip out there. How cool would that be? She took my sis to Napa and they had a blast. I could hook you up with her info if you ever decide to go. She is quite knowledgeable.

cheers to that. And ecib, should we ever head in that direction, I'll definitely take you up on the offer. Thanks.
Don't get me wrong, Napa is great, but there is great wine all over this state that isn't going to be such a pricey trip. My wife and I spent our anniversary in Ojai and Santa Barbara and toured some family owned wineries in Santa Ynez. I've been to Napa, and loved SB more.
